What you would see
A bright and spacious guest bedroom within one of the Carew Inn's newly renovated cottages. Exposed oak roof timbers complement crisp white walls and contemporary furnishings, creating accommodation that successfully combines historic character with modern comfort. Fresh flowers add colour to the room while natural daylight streams through traditional windows.

Our newly renovated self-catering cottages and serviced guest rooms are situated beside the Carew Inn, directly opposite Carew Castle.
The historic buildings have been carefully restored to provide modern facilities while preserving their original character. Guests can also enjoy a terrace overlooking the medieval castle and its beautiful millpond.

Meals
What you would see
A traditional roast dinner beautifully presented on a white plate, featuring slices of roast beef, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, seasonal vegetables and rich gravy. The photograph reflects the generous home-cooked meals served throughout the year at the Carew Inn.
Dining at Carew Inn
Meals are served every lunchtime and evening throughout the year in our three separate dining rooms and in the bar.
Each dining area has its own individual character, making them ideal for family celebrations, gatherings with friends and business lunches or dinners.
Reservations are recommended, particularly for Sunday lunch.
Bookings may be made online or by telephone.

Bar
What you would see
The traditional public bar features exposed stone walls, heavy timber beams and polished wooden fittings. A welcoming open fire burns in the large stone fireplace, creating a cosy atmosphere during the colder months, while the thick stone walls help keep the bar pleasantly cool during the summer.
Our Bar
The Carew Inn is a free house and is proud to be listed in the CAMRA Good Beer Guide.
We serve carefully kept real ales together with premium lagers, ciders, spirits, malt whiskies and an extensive range of gins.
Whether you are enjoying a quiet drink beside the fire in winter or calling in after exploring Pembrokeshire during the summer, you will always receive a warm welcome.

Terrace & Beer Garden
What you would see
Outdoor tables are positioned on both the front terrace and in the sunny rear beer garden, each enjoying wonderful views towards Carew Castle. Newly installed timber garden pods provide welcome shelter from both sunshine and showers, allowing guests to enjoy food and drinks outdoors while remaining protected from the ever-changing Pembrokeshire weather. During warm summer days the pods also provide welcome shade, making the garden an especially pleasant place to relax.
Terrace & Garden
The front terrace enjoys magnificent views across to Carew Castle and the nearby river.
To the rear of the inn, the sunny beer garden also overlooks the medieval castle together with the historic eleventh-century Celtic Cross.
Meals and drinks are served outdoors throughout the season, while the new timber garden pods allow guests to enjoy one of the finest views in Pembrokeshire whatever the weather.

Visiting Carew
Only a few miles inland from the spectacular Pembrokeshire coast, Carew is a village rich in history.
The Carew Inn stands directly opposite the famous eleventh-century Celtic Cross and is only one minute from the A477 between St Clears and Pembroke.
It also lies on the route between Tenby and the Blue Lagoon Water Park, making it an excellent base from which to explore southern Pembrokeshire.

Ironman Wales
What you would see
Cyclists taking part in Ironman Wales pass directly in front of the Carew Inn while spectators gather outside to encourage competitors. The inn provides one of the best places along the route to enjoy the atmosphere of race day.
Ironman Wales
The Carew Inn has proudly supported Ironman Wales since the event first came to Pembrokeshire in 2011.
The next event takes place on 13 September 2026.
Join us for food or refreshments while supporting competitors throughout the day.
Accommodation is always in high demand during Ironman weekend, so early booking is strongly recommended.

What you would see
On a crisp winter evening, the Carew Inn is beautifully decorated with festive lights, creating a warm and welcoming scene. Beyond the inn, the magnificent medieval Carew Castle is illuminated in striking colours as part of the Christmas celebrations at weekends, providing a spectacular backdrop. Together, the lights of the inn and the floodlit castle create a memorable festive setting in one of Pembrokeshire's most picturesque villages.

Whether you are planning a festive meal, a Christmas party or a relaxing winter break in Pembrokeshire, the Carew Inn provides a traditional country pub atmosphere with roaring fires and seasonal hospitality.
Our Christmas menu becomes available during the autumn and is served throughout December.
